1. Japanese classes in Brussels

B.L.A.'s Japanese course is an evening class held just a 2-minute walk from Merode in Brussels.

With a maximum of 10 students, the classes focus on Japanese grammar and conversation practice. We aim to create a friendly, supportive learning environment that makes learning easy. If you want to be able to converse in Japanese, this is the perfect place!

There are 8 levels, so you can find the perfect course for you, from beginner to intermediate and advanced learners. Those with some prior knowledge can join mid-year, as the course runs on a semester system.

The school is accessible by bus, tram, and subway.

Classes are offered in a hybrid format, and online participation via Zoom is also available.

Please note: Japanese classes are conducted in English.

Level 1 (A1-beginner’s course): every Thursday from 19:40 to 21:10(The 1^st lesson will be on the 10^th Sep.)
Level 2 (A1-2): every Wednesday from 18:00 to 19:30 (The 1^st lesson will be on the 9^th Sep.) FULL
Level 3 (A2-1): every Tuesday from 18:00 to 19:30. (The 1^st lesson will be on the 8^th Sep.) FULL
Level 4 (A2-2): every Monday from 18:00 to 19:30. (The 1^st lesson will be on the 14^th Sep.)
Level 5 (B1): every Tuesday from 19:40 to 21:10. (The 1^st lesson will be on the 8^th Sep.)
Level 6 (B2): every Thursday from 18:00 to 19:30. (The 1^st lesson will be on the 10^th Sep.)
Level 7 (C1) :every Monday from 19:40 to 21:10. (The 1^st lesson will be on the 14^th Sep.)
Level 8 (C2) : every Wednesday from 19:40 to 21:10. (The 1^st lesson will be on the 9^th Sep.)

We have three trimesters from September to the end of June every school year.

2. Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) and traditional Ink drawing (Sumi-e)

New course starting in September 2026!

The annual course (The first class will be on the 12th September 2026)

Saturdays from 10:20-12:20 (about 2 or 3times / month) (Reservation required)
There are about 25 lessons from September to June.

120 euros/6 lessons (+ application 10euros for enter school)
(a minimum of 4 people is needed to hold a class)

3. Private koto lessons for all levels (japanese harp) [suspended]

Koto lessons with Gaho TAKAHASHI.
Workshop or lessons programmed a few times through the year.
All levels, lessons in French, English and Japanese.
Traditional and modern repertoire.
